“Communication of the blessed sacrilege” (1991). Inspired by Georges Bataille’s “Story of the Eye”. I shot over 100 frames of black and white photos, generating the following set of three portraits and four panels. I later coloured a selection of the photos and gathered them into a much larger gallery—“Saintly Cadavers”—with a completely different flavour, also including numerous outtakes. Saintly Cadavers has been exhibited in galleries in New York, London and Rome as well as in various art festivals since 2007. I used a Konica AUTOREFLEX T4 35mm Film SLR Manual camera throughout the series.
