“Communication of the blessed sacrilege” (1992). Inspired by Georges Bataille’s “Story of the Eye”, I took over 100 frames of black and white photos, generating the following censored set of three portraits and four panels, first exhibited in my gallery in New York City. I later coloured most of the photos and gathered them into a more comprehensive and uncensored gallery, with a completely different flavour, also including numerous outtakes. “Saintly Cadavers” has been exhibited in galleries in New York, London and Rome as well as in various art festivals since 2007. I used a Konica AUTOREFLEX T4 35mm Film SLR Manual camera throughout the series. I also produced the film “White Funeral”, that has been shown in various film festivals around the world since 2018, featuring the same models. “White Funeral” can be viewed by following this hyperlink: https://filmfreeway.com/whitefuneral.
