“Communication of the blessed sacrilege” (1992). Inspired by Georges Bataille’s “Story of the Eye”, I took over 100 frames of black and white photos, generating the following censored set of three portraits and four panels, first exhibited in my gallery in New York City. I later coloured most of the photos and gathered them into a more comprehensive and uncensored gallery, with a completely different flavour, also including numerous outtakes. “Saintly Cadavers” has been exhibited in galleries in New York, London and Rome as well as in various art festivals since 2007. I also produced the film “White Funeral”, that has been shown in various film festivals around the world since 2018, featuring the same models. I used a Konica AUTOREFLEX T4 35mm Film SLR Manual camera throughout the series. “White Funeral” can be viewed by following this hyperlink: https://filmfreeway.com/whitefuneral.
